How do I register for the auction ?

How do I bid ?

You must first register - see above link. Once you have registered, you will receive by email a bidder number;  to bid you must login with your bidder number and your password.   During a current online auction, you can then select your vehicle(s) and enter a bid amount(s). You will receive an email notification if you are outbid.

What is Maximum Bid ?

You can enter the maximum amount you are prepared to pay for the car excluding the administration fee.  The system will automatically bid on your behalf until your maximum is reached.

Do the items have reserves ?

All vehicles have are unreserved unless otherwise stated.

What happens if I am the winning bidder ?

If your bid is successful, you will receive a confirmation email and invoice. A deposit of $1000.00 will be charged to your nominated credit card. You then need to pay the balance within 2 working days. We accept payment for the balance by direct debit, credit card (for amounts over $5000.00 a 3% surcharge will apply), or by cash or bank cheque at Baulkham Hills. In the case of reserved vehicles, if your bid is the highest below reserve price,  you will receive an 'Invitation to Purchase' email disclosing the reserve price. Contact us if you wish to purchase the car at the reserve price.

Does my bid include GST ?

Yes, your bid includes GST. 

Are there fees and charges ?

Yes, all items attract a Buyers Premium of 5%. For example, if a vehicle costs $100.00, the total price payable will be $105.00.

How do the auctions close ?

Each catalogue has a closing time.  If no bids are received in the final 10 minutes before the catalogue closes then
all cars are closed.  However, if a bid for an item is received within the final 10 minutes then the closing time for that
car is extended for a further 10 minutes.  This continues until there are no bids for a clear 10 minutes.

Is there a  warranty ?

There is no warranty given on items sold at auction. We can supply a third party warranty. Contact us for more details and prices.

Can I withdraw a bid ?

No, you cannot withdraw a bid. Please be careful when entering a bid as you are entering into an agreement to buy the item if your bid is the winning bid.

Is the title to the item guaranteed ?

Yes, the title to the car is guaranteed. TPEAuctions will ensure that all encumbrances are removed and can provide a VCheck and REVS Certificate on request.

Can I trade in my car ?

Yes, please contact TPEAuctions and our valuation team, following inspection of your vehicle, will make you a firm offer valid for 7 days. If you are the winning bidder you can then be assured that you can use your trade-in as part payment (subject to regulatory checks being conducted on your car). If you cannot get the vehicle to us prior to the sale, we can provide you with an estimate only, to be confirmed on inspection.

Can you help with finance ?

Yes, please contact us before you bid. We can pre-arrange finance (subject to approval) so you can bid with confidence. With a guaranteed trade-in and finance approved you are all set to buy and save at TPEAuctions.

Do I receive clear title to the vehicle ?

TPEAuctions guarantee clear title to all vehicles. You can access both Vcheck & REVS results for each vehicle.

How do I transfer the title into my name ?

You will take vehicle receipt, proof of identity and any other relevant documentation to the RTA within 14 days of sale. For further information.
